i have always longed to getaway from the hustle and bustle of tokyo life, even just for awhile. and i finally had my chance this month.
last weekend, daniel and i went to nagano for a much-sought rest and relaxation. originally, we thought of going to niigata, together with our good friend and indonesian classmate meidy (and her hubby and sis-in-law). but with her busy schedule and my laziness, we never got around to planning our trip.
at the spur of the moment, off we went. why nagano? because we've never been there yet. and like niigata, it is also a popular destination during winter. on this trip, we decided to forego skiing since it would take up much of our time. besides, all we wanted was a change of scenery. and a very relaxing getaway. so we spent our time enjoying the onsens, playing in the casino, getting a massage and enjoying the view. and the package we took included eat-all-you-can dinner and breakfast. the resort was bigger than we thought - stuck in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains. what a very welcome sight!
we were so well-rested that it felt like we were away for a week. i guess it was money well-spent.
