it's amazing how filipinos overseas bond instantly when accidentally meeting each other. met two pinoy waitresses recently at a restaurant. in between taking our orders and then serving our food, we managed to chat a bit. and in less than 30 minutes, we knew each other's life story. or at least the gist of it!

while on the lift with a friendly couple in our building, the guy asked me if i was from the philippines. smiling, i replied "yes". and the woman said, "oh, such a nice country!" as they both got off to their floor, i was left wondering what was in me that is so glaringly filipino. so i asked my hubby the next day and he answered, "ah it's the way you dress, you may look like a malaysian malay but you don't dress up like one!" uh okay.

i love our unit ever since we moved in at the start of this year. but unfortunately, we have iraqi neighbors from hell! around midnight most nights, they entertain guests who talk loudly, not to mention those screaming children running around the hallway playing with the other neighbors' shoes including mine, until the younger ones start crying. and one time, i heard some women wailing. what the heck is their deal? why can't their guests come during the day? perhaps this will forever remain a mystery to me.
